The project responds to an existing site in Toronto (37 Bulwer St.) and a program to accommodate a residence and fabrication studio.
The design adopts the orphaned brick building on the site, inserting new volumes within the brick walls. Less an act of preservation than an urban collage, the existing building is re-deployed as a layer in the experience of the new building and urban fabric.
